Osvaldo “Ozzie” Melendez-Solis, age 59, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2019. Osvaldo was born in Vieques, Puerto Rico on October 30, 1959. Osvaldo worked as an aircraft mechanic for 25 years. He was married to Gladys Ortiz for 35 years and had three daughters, Krystina, Karina and Karla. Osvaldo was a wonderful father, husband and friend.

Papi was a very compassionated person that did a lot for his family and friends. He would make someone laugh and always had a smile on his face. He was a strong person that took everything with a positive attitude. He left us too soon, but he left a small part of himself in every person blessed to have met him, his time here was fulfilling and will live in all of us for a lifetime.

I for one will remember him with all the lessons he left me with and will miss the time that he listened to me and his story that kept me in a trance and in suspense until a laugh was heard at the end of his tales. All his jokes that where worth to hear 10 times. I love you and miss you.

Papi taught me a lot about how great and full, life could be. No matter what would happen to him; he would always stay positive and make a lot of jokes. He loved listening to music, cooking, and working on his favorite car, his shiny blue Corvette. He would also enjoy all the different kinds of food around him, and that’s where I spent most of my time with him in the kitchen. He left us too soon, but I know that he will always be watching us and protecting us.

The best father any one can ask for. Everything he did he did it with love. Thank you for all the great moments and memories we all build together. Will miss your laugh, love and positive spirit.
