Paul Edmund Loerwald departed this world for Heaven on January 23rd, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on August 8th, 1952 in Hereford, Texas, to a blacksmith father and a homemaker mother, who was also a very active member in their church. He followed in his father’s footsteps and became a welder, a trade he practiced for over 40 years.

Paul studied at Stephen F. Austin State University, played on the football team and participated in Greek life as a member of Chi Sigma Chi. He then moved to Fort Worth and built a fulfilling life with his then-wife, Cindy Smith. He raised two daughters and spent his time supporting them through all their activities including dance, cheerleading, gymnastics and golf. Very proud of the home he built on Eagle Mountain Lake, he worked hard to maintain his yard and even built his own dock to enjoy the lake with his daughters. Paul’s passions were his family and traditions. He always looked for ways to make memories and enjoyed being the life of the party. Paul took pride in watching his granddaughters grow and felt so privileged to be their Opa.

Paul is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Jaclyn Loerwald, and Caitlyn Burdock and her husband Burke of Ft. Worth; sisters, Dodie Brorman, Patsy Simnacher and her husband Albert, Cindy Ferry and her husband Pat, and Claudia Smith; Brother, David Loerwald and his wife Lori; Brother-in-law, Don Dolle; and his three granddaughters Madison Valdez and her husband Cory, Sophie Burdock and Grace Burdock; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Adeline and Ed Loerwald; sister, Susie Dolle; and brothers-in-law, Frank Brorman and Dale Smith.

A memorial mass will be held at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church in Hereford, Texas at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 12th.
