Rafael Saldana Jr.
1949 - 2022
Ralph Saldana Jr. went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2022, at the age of 73. He was born on March 30, 1949, to Mary Lopez and Rafael Saldana Sr. in Edinburg, Texas.
Ralph resided in Alvin, Texas attending Alvin Independent School District. Mr. Saldana enlisted in the Army in 1969 serving his country proudly as transport support in the Vietnam War. Rafael served his country faithfully as a good soldier and will be remembered for his sacrifices. Rafael was a devoted father and husband who helped to coach his son’s little league team. He enjoyed taking in prompt to family vacations. He was a lover of new vehicles, frequently purchasing a new automobile that caught his eye. Rafael was always willing to help and did so with a smile on his face. He supported caring for his wife’s parents until their last days. He will mostly be remembered for his big heart and a smile that could brighten your day. From his friends and family this is what will be missed most.
Rafael was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lopez, his father, Rafael Saldana Sr., his sister, Susie Delgado and his brothers, Robert Saldana, Rey Lopez Jr., and Noe Saldana. He is survived by his loving wife, Janie Munoz-Saldana; 2 daughters, 4 sons, 3 sisters, 4 brothers and multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is loved by so many and as his last words to his loving wife were “Remember I love you” may we all carry these words with us in remembrance of Rafael Saldana Jr.
The funeral is scheduled for 11:30 AM on November 10 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas Tx. 75211.
