On June 11, 2015, God blessed our world and lives with one of the most amazing, beautiful souls ever. Her life exposed the evidence of God’s Love and Wonder as she embodied the highest form of Love that our Father in heaven has ever given us. On Saturday morning, 24 July 2021, we learned that God needed her back. Tori Layne Patton was only six years old. She was survived by her parents, Joseph Allen Patton and Carol Jayne Patton; her brother, Daniel Joseph Patton; and her two sisters, Courtney Dawn Patton and Teagan Debbie Patton. However, she was surrounded by people who loved her nearly and dearly. Her sweet smile, precious hugs, unusual emotional acuity, never-ending energy, amazing sense of humor and beautiful unique spirit were always a force to be reckoned with. Anyone who met her couldn’t help but to instantly fall in love. Tori was one of a kind. She knew exactly who she was from the first breath she took. She was unique and was here to make a difference. Tori never new a stranger. Everyone she met was met with a warm embrace and a sweet smile. Her hug and hand holding would melt any heart. She smiled all the time and never seemed to let the world around her affect her purity.
She never was afraid to share how she felt. Ever. When she felt sad, she would let you know she was sad. When she was mad, she didn’t really have to tell you, you just knew because it was Tori. But man, when she was happy, which she almost always was, that smile was infectious. She was hilarious and caring. You could be in the worst mood and just spending 3 minutes with that little girl would change your whole day to nothing but smiles. She was so SO incredibly special. Tori danced to the beat of her own drum, and we all fell in love with the sound. She loved and she loved hard. She was open in ways most at her age would already be exhibiting signs of guarding oneself. At the age of two she broke her arm and showed empathy beyond her years by holding back emotional destress to protect her family from the pain of a hurt child. Through her 6 years, Tori didn’t always have it easy, but that smile never left her face. She was always “Our Tori”. Her energy was infectious and sometimes even a challenge to keep up with. On many occasions she could be found zooming from one adventure to another never missing a beat although sometimes causing her family’s hearts to skip a beat. Everyone was always amazed and curious to where the adventure would take them. Without any formal training or knowledge of God she has expressed a pure and precious love that God has been trying to teach us all to express since the beginning of creation. People like Tori don’t come along often. If anyone could ever really know or understand God, it was most definitely her.
