Virginia Ann Floyd
January 1, 1930 - January 8, 2021
Ann loved and played music on her cell phone daily. She was a Christian from the age of 12, baptized in First Baptist Church in Forney where she grew up, converting to the First United Methodist Church in her later life. Ann and her cousin, Betty Owens Collins, grew up close as sisters. They were 7 months apart and near one another most of their lives. They spoke on the phone twice or more every day and lived similar lives in Forney; college, marriages, and children.
Ann’s three children were the highlight of her life. She was very proud of each one. Great-grandchildren were a delight for her to watch at play as they loaded her lap with toys and books to read.
Virginia Ann King was born on January 1, 1930, in Ferris, Texas, to Sarah Ollie Taylor King and Claude Anson King who preceded her, as did her older sister, Patsy Ruth King, and her younger brother, Claude A. King, known to all as Dickie.
She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Forney, as well as First Baptist Church in Arlington. Later on in years she became a member of First United Methodist Church in Arlington. She was known to her grandkids and great-grandchildren as Gaga.
She is survived by her children, Sherrill Floyd Webb and husband Ronnie Webb, Kimberly Floyd Geltmeier and husband Travis Geltmeier, Scott LaRoe Floyd and wife Carole Floyd; 8 grandkids, Lindi (husband Richard), Brent, Trevor (wife Dalana), Sarah, Cheyanne, Matthew (wife Tiffany), Hunter (wife Haley) and Rylee; and 9 great-grandkids.
