Sherry Purdy

1972 - 2022

Sherry Purdy was born to Doris Purdy in Fort Worth, Texas on October 6, 1972, and passed away July 3, 2022 in Lexington, South Carolina. Sherry was always described by others, as a person who had a passionate voice that really spoke to people. She loved to do research on many topics and places around the world that she found interesting to her. She was always curious about the anomalies in life and in the here-after. Sherry loved her children and family without bounds. She enjoyed sharing hobbies with her children, such as Neopets, with her oldest daughter and youngest son. Sherry loved spending time on Tik Tok and other forms of social media, which was one of the passions she shared with her youngest daughter. She also enjoyed watching horror movies with her youngest daughter, they liked zombie horror movies the best. Sherry enjoyed many forms of art, such as poetry and with her love of social media, she loved to moderate and edit social media accounts for influencers along with creating digital art and photo editing. Sherry loved to paint and draw which was a talent she obtained from her mother and that trait continues to run through the family. Sherry was a lover of all kinds of music and could freestyle to any song played. Sherry enjoyed cosmetology and using her talents for cosplaying as some of her favorite characters. She was a strong woman who endured a lot in life, but she was always filled with humor and loved to tell jokes and just relaxing around others and clowning around. 

Sherry had endured a lot of pain over the years but now is resting peacefully. She lived many years longer than the doctors thought possible. Sherry got to go and experience all the wonderful things in life, that all the doctors had told her, that she would miss out on by a shortened life. She was able to watch, as all her children grew up into wonderful adults and then in April of 2022, she was able to meet her first grandchild, Isabella Martin, whom she loved dearly. 

Sherry is proceeded in death by her grandparents, J.R. and Janie Purdy; her loving husband, Wayne Thompson and her beloved pets, Buster, Peanut and Hammy. 

She will be lovingly and deeply missed by her mother, Doris Purdy; her children, Elizabeth Ramsey, Eddie Thompson and Sarah Martin; her grandchild, Isabella Martin and her dog, Ollie.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Roberts-Martinez Funeral Chapel beginning at 2:00 PM.
